This morning we broke camp at Hill Air Force Base and made tracks east into Wyoming. We save time and stress by departing Hill and heading east then north slightly and catching I-84 to I-80 then east. The alternative would have been to go south on I-15 and catch I-80 in Salt Lake City.
The drive today was just 170 miles so we delayed our departure until 0918 hrs and took out time. The scenery was beautiful, a very nice route!
After about 40 minutes we intersected with I-80 and headed eastbound there. Soon we crossed the border into Yoming! Never heard of it? Well the sign below tells the tale!
We continued our journey east and continued to enjoy the scenery. I've said before how much I enjoy the west - the wide open spaces. Some may say that it is bland or boring, but I really like the openness, and so much history out here.
At 1235 hrs, just 3 hours 17 minutes after we departed, we arrived at the Rock Springs Green River KOA, our home for the next three nights. This is stop# 36 out of 42, so we are coming down the home stretch!
I did not get the obligatory pictures of our coach parked here, but I did take some pictures of the area as we walked Liberty about. There is not much around us here and the campground has hardly a blade of glass anywhere. Liberty is not thrilled, but she appreciates a good Clint Eastwood movie and has adopted the "improvise, adapt and overcome" mantra, and "go potty on the rocks" philosophy!!
We don't have any set plans for our three night stay here yet, but the office gave us a lot of ideas including viewing wild horses, Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur Park, tubing the Green River, and possibly some petroglyphs.
