11 Apr 2023 - NSTR - Leisurely Day in Arlington

We had a nice, leisurely day today with nothing significant to report (NSTR).  You will hear that from us periodically.  This is a marathon not a sprint.  We have leisurely days with not much going on and then we have multiple days at 100 mph!  Semper Gumby - always flexible!

We had planned to go to the Fort Worth Stockyard today, but after Doreen's research we decided to postpone that until tomorrow (Wednesday) and do some other things today.  One thing she did find is the Stockyard is dog-friendly, so Liberty will make that trip with us which will eliminate the time factor.

We took off this morning and headed to a nearby Lowes to pick up a few things,  From there we used an app called "Gas Buddy" and located a nearby fuel station filling the truck with diesel.  That was a $100 proposition!  Then we went to a Tex Mex restaurant common to this area called Chuy's, a favorite of our daughter Jennifer.  We have eaten at a Chuy's before in the San Antonio area.  The food was great.

After lunch we drove to a nearby RAM dealer to make sure we had the correct part number for the replacement hub cap that flew off somewhere between Wichita and Oklahoma City.  They were very helpful in identifying the correct part number for our VIN but they did not have it in stock.  That's OK because I did not intend to buy it there, especially when they said it was $350.00  Yeah, right!  Not so much!

Back at the campground we took a break this afternoon, walked Liberty around a couple times, and took care of a few tasks around the "tenement on wheels", as Clark W. Griswold would say!

The Cubs are hosting the Seattle Mariners right now in Chicago and they went live at 1840 hrs tonight on Marquee Network which is on channel 664 on our Directv.  We enjoy following the Cubs and we get most all the games on Marquee.

Of course while watching the Cubbies and while in Texas, we drink the official Texas beer, Lone Star!

So tomorrow we head to Fort Worth!  We have been there before but looking forward to the return trip.
